Corn on the Cob – We all have our preferences when it comes to eating corn. Some like it grilled and some like it boiled. I enjoy eating corn and when you know the basic method of cooking corn on the cob you can get creative be it grilled, boiled, or baked!
How To Cook Corn On The Cob?
To enjoy a good corn on the cob, start with fresh corns. I’m not saying that you can’t use frozen but the flavor and texture of fresh corn are more flavorful.
It’s hard to determine for some when the corn is perfectly cooked and the most asked question remains “how long to boil corn on the cob?”
To cook the corn but maintain a slight crunch, bring water to a boil then add the corns, salt, butter, and cook for 5 minutes, that will give you a delicious corn.
Quality ingredients give the best result
In today’s recipe though, I won’t add salt nor butter while the corn is boiling because I will brush the corn with butter and spice mix after it’s cooked. If you’re looking for softer corn texture then boil it for 8 minutes.
Now, let’s talk about the other ingredients used to make corn on the cob a mind-blowing appetizer. Butter, use unsalted butter to have more control over how much salt is used.
I chose paprika and black pepper to season with, since both spices have an earthy aroma and taste. Onion powder is added just to give this recipe a kick!
