Golden Yellow Cake Recipe

Golden Yellow Cake – I have tasted many yellow cakes made from yellow cake mix, and of course I tried my hands on few recipes available on the internet for homemade yellow cake recipes. I was never satisfied until I found the beauty you can see below!

Golden Yellow cake. Moist and delicious yellow cake made from scratch. You’ll never want to make yellow cake mix again! This recipe is for the best yellow cake recipe I ever tried and the yellow color is not artificial. letscookingmam.com | @Arinacooking

Let me tell you the story of finding the best yellow cake recipe. The story starts with my sister Su and her latest craze, baking!

My sister Su (Who is a published Fiction writer), in a sneaky way, got in the kitchen and baked something and she wanted to keep it as a surprise.

I wasn’t allowed to enter the kitchen except for an emergency, even then I shouldn’t open the oven or turn on its light. All I had to do was wait for the oven timer to go off. Then—and only then—I could open the oven.

She’d just left (with a wicked smile on her face) and asked me to babysit whatever was baking while keeping in mind the rules she set.

The sweet aroma of a delicious surprise wafted into the living room, but I kept my promise. I went to the kitchen only when the timer went off.

I opened the oven door and…Wow! Although the aroma was delicious, it didn’t prepare me for the gorgeous cake sitting in the middle of the oven.

A Conversation with a Yellow Cake

I took it out and placed it on the kitchen counter, just staring at its color.

I asked myself: When and from where did Su get this recipe?

Golden Yellow Cake: If you’re done staring, can you put me on a wire rack?
I rubbed my eyes.

Me: What the #[email protected]%? You can talk?

GYC: Aha.

Me: Hmm, I expected something twisted from Su, a talking cake!! What are you?

GYC: Look, I don’t want to be rude or anything, but I really need to get on that wire rack, I hate it when I get dry and crumbly!

After I placed the cake on the rack…

GYC: Man! That feels good.

Me: So what are you?

GYC: I’m a Golden Yellow Cake, but you can call me Goldie.

Me: I heard about you. People say you’re heavy.

GYC: Excuse me?

Me: I meant your ingredients.

GYC: It’s true. Still, everyone wants a piece of me hehehe.

Me: Aaand you giggle as well! Wow. So tell me about you, I mean other than being gorgeous.
GYC: Don’t make me blush, I don’t want to turn RED! I am delicious. If you don’t tell your guest about my ingredients I can pass for a butter tea cake. The best part is that I’m sometimes mistaken for Pound Cake, but they soon come to know that I’m something else from just one bite.

I reached for a fork and knife and smiled at Goldy.

GYC: Gulp

Of course, the conversation between me and the cake was imaginary! I promise, I didn’t lose it

Yellow cake made from scratch tastes amazing and I promise it won’t last long in your house.

The recipe I’m sharing today is a loaf cake but you can double the recipe and make two 9” cake.

This cake is moist but holds nicely, so it is a perfect yellow cake for birthdays and special occasions.

Don’t buy another Yellow cake mix, use this recipe instead.

I would say the Yogurt gives it the tangy taste, although, it doesn’t say what flavor and I would think the flavor would be the deciding factor in how tangy it is. Plain or Vanilla for instance wouldn’t give it much added flavor or make it tangy (at least to me,lol)
