Irish Soda Bread

irish soda bread

I live in a country where I’m exposed to different cultures every single day. Indian, African, Arabic, English, Dutch, you name it. This is a big advantage to me since I can add more and more new recipes to my cooking experience, including this beautiful Irish Soda Bread.

Irish Soda Bread

If you have been following my blog, you’ll notice that other than my BIG sweet tooth, I’m more into cooking quick recipes.
I love cooking in general but baking is the best part in my opinion.
It’s common to smell fresh bakings in my house in the middle of the night, it sets me free somehow, could be all that kneading and punching … LOL!
Today I brought you one of my family’s favorite bread, Irish Soda Bread. As always I don’t like to go deep in the background of a specific dish, since at times more than a country fight over it’s origin, and although it’s called Irish soda bread, I read that it could be originated from Serbia, see what I mean?
Most important part is, this bread is quick, tastes great and looks good enough to show it off in front of your guests.
** This recipe is enough for 2 -3 people.
** You can omit the egg yolk.
** If you don’t have buttermilk, you can make a substitute that can work just the same. Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to 3/4 cup milk, let it stand for 5 minutes, then use it as per the recipe.

, and if you happen to make any of my recipes, please post the picture and mention me in your post, or use this hashtag #Arinacooking. I would love to see your creation.
